Roasted Chick Peas

  • 1 can (540 ml) chick peas, rinsed and drained
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) ground cumin or curry
  • 1 ml (1/4 teaspoon) Cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste


  1. Preheat oven at 220 ⁰C (425 ºF)
  2. Place chick peas in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Place in the oven for approximately 20 minutes to dry chick peas.
  3. Take out from the oven, add oil and spices, and mix well.
  4. Lower the oven temperature to 200 ⁰C (400 ⁰F) and place chick peas in the oven for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, until crisp and golden. Watch closely as they easily go from golden to burnt!
