This time last year, I was still trying to find myself. After a challenging year and much effort, I can now say that my search is over. Last year, I signed up for Opération Groenland, a trip to raise funds for Opération Enfant Soleil. I love to travel and am passionate about the cause. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity! During the year I spent preparing for the trip, I not only met a multitude of caring people, but caring companies as well.
Énergie Cardio coached travellers to help them physically prepare for the challenge. My Énergie Cardio centre quickly became my second home! I spent time at the centre out of necessity, but also because I enjoyed the environment. The Énergie Cardio centre in Valleyfield is spacious and clean, and the staff is very dynamic. The trainers understand the needs of their clients. I surpassed my limits and reached my physical peak to take part in this epic experience. I still train today because I learned to love it!
As soon as I signed up for the trip to Greenland, which took place in July 2017, I knew I was about to embark on a life-changing journey. I’ll never forget our amazing group and how we supported each other through the highs and lows in a majestic setting. Thanks to my membership at Énergie Cardio, I was ready to take on the 11-day trekking and kayaking challenge and experience a trip of a lifetime.
Above all, I feel like I made a small difference in the daily lives of children in Quebec by contributing to the Opération Enfant Soleil cause. The 2017 edition raised $107,000. Opération Groenland 2 has just launched, and Énergie Cardio is once again a partner. I hope everyone gets a chance to experience this unforgettable adventure: the before, during, and after are forever etched in my memory.
