Gabrielle was a regular at the Fontainebleau pour Elle Énergie Cardio centre, as she had previously taken part in the Bouge avec Énergie Cardio program, which gave 3,000 youths between the ages of 15 and 17 the chance to train for free at our gyms over the summer. It was that program that really got Gabrielle into exercise. So, she got an annual membership. Along with her mother, who was also a member, they combine group classes, free training on the training floor, and private training with their trainer, Jessy. Gabrielle now works out two to three times per week and has integrated her exercise routine into her school and extracurricular schedule.

“I love to work hard and challenge myself,” Gabrielle said. She also likes that Jessy gets her out of her comfort zone because after a workout, she is always proud of herself and amazed to see what she has accomplished. “I always try, even if it’s hard!” She has also worked very hard with her trainer to develop new lifestyle and eating habits that benefit her entire family.

Gabrielle and her trainer Jessy have also developed a strong personal connection. Gabrielle writes to her after working out to let her know how it went. Last winter, when Gabrielle’s car wouldn’t start due to the cold, Jessy went to pick her and her mother up so that they wouldn’t miss out on their training. “I push them to the limit,” Jessy said.

“I wanted to lose weight and feel better about myself,” Gabrielle told me. She has already lost more than 12 lb. and feels more confident and better about herself. She gets closer to reaching her goals every day thanks to the support of her mother and her trainer, two women who are key to her success.

Before our conversation, I had seen Gabrielle train with Jessy and noticed their connection right away. Despite all the effort Gabrielle was putting into the exercises, she never stopped smiling. You are a great example of determination, Gabrielle, and it’s not simply due to Jessy’s encouragement: it’s also thanks to the support of the entire team at the Fontainebleau pour Elle Énergie Cardio centre, and that of the entire Énergie Cardio network.

Go Gabrielle, go!
