Summer is the season for sangria, margaritas, and piña coladas! But these delicious cocktails can quickly become your worst enemy if you’re try to maintain a “beach body.”

It’s hard to say no when all your friends have a glass in hand and you just want to unwind on a lovely summer evening. I have a solution that will let you enjoy cocktail season without the guilt. With fewer than 200 calories each, these delicious drinks will keep you refreshed as you enjoy your summer.

Margarita: 139 calories

  • 45 mL (1 ½ oz) tequila
  • 8 mL (¼ oz) citrus liqueur
  • Juice of half a lime
  • Ice cubes
  • Fine salt
  • 1 lime wedge

Mimosa: 85 calories

It’s very easy to make. Try substituting the orange juice with grapefruit or pineapple juice for a tasty result!

  • 110 mL (3 ⅔ oz) sparkling wine
  • 40 mL (1 ⅓ oz) orange juice

Bellini: 133 calories

Like the mimosa, this peach-flavoured sparkling wine cocktail is cool and refreshing on a hot summer day.

  • 2 peaches
  • 90 mL (3 oz) sparkling wine

Gin and Tonic: 155 calories

Yessssss! The classic gin and tonic counts as a low-calorie drink. So naturally, we had to include it on this list! A pure delight that’s very easy to make.

  • 60 mL (2 oz) dry gin
  • 150 mL (5 oz) tonic water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime slices

Mojito: 157 calories

A mojito is an explosion of flavours that will delight your taste buds. And since all the ingredients (except the rum) are super light, you can enjoy it guilt-free! Tip: Mojitos are much more authentic (and lower in calories) when made with cane sugar.

  • 45 mL (1 ½ oz) white rum
  • 60 mL (2 oz) club soda
  • 12 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 sprig of fresh mint

Vodka Martini: 147 calories

Also called a Dirty Martini.

  • 45 mL (1 ½ oz) dry gin
  • 8 mL (¼ oz) dry white vermouth
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 green olives (or more, yum!)

Cosmopolitan: 150 calories

We think this “girly” cocktail has gained popularity in recent years because it’s ultra light, and because sometimes you just need a little sweetness in this harsh world. And yes, men can enjoy it too! 😉

  • 45 mL (1 ½ oz) vodka
  • 15 mL (½ oz) citrus liqueur
  • 20 mL (⅔ oz) cranberry juice
  • Juice of half a lime
  • Ice cubes
  • 3 cranberries
